The mission of the M.S. in Engineering degree is to provide graduate students with learning opportunities for acquiring a broad foundation of engineering knowledge including business and manufacturing aspects; an in-depth research experience at the frontiers of engineering; and skills for lifelong learning and professional development. Graduates of this program will pursue careers in business/industry and government, or will pursue doctoral degrees. The M.S. in Engineering degree has several concentrations, but only the concentrations in aerospace engineering and engineering management are offered online.

Based on "Engineers, all other" from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
Students will learn to take the lead and coordinate the success of cross-disciplinary teams with a concentration in engineering management, part of the master’s program at the VCU College of Engineering.
Students will apply their engineering knowledge to the mechanisms of flight and space with a concentration in aerospace engineering, part of the master’s program at the VCU College of Engineering.
