About T/TAC

The Virginia Department of Education’s (VDOE) Training and Technical Assistance Center (T/TAC) at Virginia Commonwealth University offers a variety of services tailored to assist personnel in schools, interagency coordinating councils and state-operated programs in Superintendent’s Regions 1 and 8. The VDOE T/TAC is a part of the statewide network of T/TACs across Virginia and a participating member of the online community T/TACOnline. The VDOE T/TAC at VCU is also a part of the Partnership for People with Disabilities, a member of the national University Centers for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities. Read More

Virginia Family Special Education Connection Website Launches!  The Virginia Department of Education has funded the Virginia Family Special Education Connection Website to provide families with critical and practical information regarding special education services in Virginia.  The web site aims to provide a one-stop for community, educational, family life and legislative resources to support families and caregivers as their children progress through school with special education services and transition into adulthood.  Visit the website at: http://vafamilysped.org

Creating Connections to Shining Stars: Virginia's Collaborative Early Childhood Birth through Five Conference, July 22-24, 2013, The Cavalier Hotel, Virginia Beach, VA.  Creating Connections to Shining Stars is a collaborative effort between many state agencies and early childhood programs in Virginia.  The conference will focus on promoting and supporting the implementation of evidence-based practices in inclusive settings for young children, both with and without disabilities.  For more information and to register.  Event flyer.
