Message from the director

“As we continue our efforts at providing a wide range of opportunities for environmental research and education, I am pleased to say that we have had a steady stream of activities at the Rice Center. Student research, much of it funded by Rice Center Student Scholarships, is on the rise — some of which is reflected in the recent 'news and events' stories posted here. Our interdisciplinary perspective on ecosystem research has enabled a wide range of scientists to use our unique site and, in turn, this wider perspective gives us the ability to provide the public with a better understanding of the beauty, fragility and innate complexity of our natural world.”
