Research interests:
Mechanisms of action of psychotherapeutic drugs/drug dependence/opiates, nicotine and cocaine
Research focuses on mechanisms of tolerance and physical dependence on opioids, psychostimulants, cannabinoids and nicotine. Emphasis is on the development of animal models for the study of pharmacological, physiological and behavioral parameters associated with states of drug dependence. Additionally, these models are used for the discovery of new pharmacotherapeutic agents.
