- Linda Struck, MSW, Child Protective Services Program Specialist at the Virginia Department of Social Services, authored the initial curriculum that was developed to meet the guidelines jointly established by the Virginia Department of Education and the Virginia Department of Social Services pursuant to the Code of Virginia. This curriculum was sent to local Departments of Social Services for their staff to use in training teachers on child abuse and neglect reporting. Linda Struck served on the Advisory Group and also provided oversight of the Project on behalf of the Department.
- Lanett Brailey, Educational Specialist in the Office of Special Education Instructional Services, worked on the guidelines, served on the Advisory Group, and provided guidance with the marketing and distribution of the course.
- Lois Wright, MSSW, EdD, Director of Evaluation and Education at VCU VISSTA, enhanced the VDSS curriculum with additional resources and prepared an Educator’s Resource Packet that was sent out to 35 institutions of higher education throughout the state of Virginia.
- Janine Tondrowski, MEd, Curriculum Developer in the Child Welfare Unit at VCU VISSTA, adapted the content from the initial curriculum and Educator’s Resource Packet and developed additional content for the web-based course.
- Susan Deihl, MFA, Curriculum Developer at VCU VISSTA, designed and produced the website and accompanying CD.
- Christine Ankerstjerne, MA, Editor at VCU VISSTA, assisted with adapting and developing additional content for use in the web-based course.
- Linda Gupta, LCSW, Lead Developer for Child Welfare Curriculum at VCU VISSTA, reviewed the content of the course, coordinated the work of the Advisory Group, and conducted the pilots. She also worked on the distribution of the course and accompanying CD.
- Anne Kisor, PhD, Assistant Director at VCU VISSTA, convened the Advisory Group and provided oversight of the Project on behalf of VCU VISSTA.
