BPS2150: Citizenship and Alien Status - Online
This self-paced, interactive, online course is designed to explore the process of verifying that non-citizen meet the necessary requirements for Medicaid benefits, and whether thise benefits will entail full or limited coverage. The course examines the distinctions between different groups of aliens when making eligibility determinations as well ass how thise distinctions affect Medicaid coverage. The course also discusses how to go about documenting case records correctly, including information needed for entry into the ADAPT and MMIS database systems.

Topics include:

  • Identifying and evaluation legal presence requirements for Medicaid applicants/enrollees
  • Determining what verifications are needed to prove citizenship and identity
  • Documenting correctly in the case record the required citizenship and identity verifications
  • Evaluating non-financial alien requirements to determine if a non-citizenship and identity verifications
  • Evaluating and processing Emergency Services applications for unqualified aliens
  • Entering alien status information into ADAPT and MMIS
