providing assessment and case management for older clients with Alzheimer's disease. The tape discusses common
characteristics of Alzheimer's disease patients and how those characteristics impact the case manager. It recommends
that to work effectively and appropriately with Alzheimer's disease patients, the case manager must allow extra
interview time; maintain eye contact; direct questions to the client, not others in the room; use fewer words in
questions; watch for nonverbal reactions; and use repetition. The case worker also should do a follow-up interview with
family members or caregivers to assess the accuracy and completeness of the information given by the patient. The tape
contains several vignettes illustrating the interview process; emphasizing the examination such as the the Mini-Mental
