Welcome to VCU Urology
On behalf of the Division of Urology at Virginia Commonwealth University, I would like to welcome you to our website. VCU Urology has a long and prestigious history within the central Virginia region. Our division, along with our association of the long-standing Medical College of Virginia, has provided care to patients from the Mid-Atlantic region for multiple generations.
Our faculty represent the best and brightest from multiple subspecialties within urology. All of our faculty are board certified from the American Board of Urology and represent subspecialty interests including oncology, pediatrics, female and neurourology, and minimally-invasive surgery. Many of our faculty are also directly involved with the pursuit of state-of-the-art scientific research. Our research has been published in numerous peer-reviewed publications.
Robotic Surgery at VCU Medical Center
One of the things that excites me the most about VCU Urology is our commitment to cutting-edge laparoscopic and robotic surgery. Using the daVinci surgical robot, our surgeons are able to perform highly skilled and precise operations through small incisions. We are unique to this region in that we have two board certified fellowship trained robotic surgeons. With the support of our robotic surgical team, Dr. Vernon Orton and I have provided robotic surgical care to hundreds of patients from many different states and several foreign countries.
Because of our affiliation with the VCU School of Medicine, located on the MCV Campus, we are able to attract the best medical students and surgical residents from every region of the country. This commitment to education at all levels improves the level of care that is provided to our patients.
Please explore our website and if you need further information regarding VCU Urology, I encourage you to email me personally with any questions.
