Instructors unanimously agree that students who visit the Writing Center turn in better papers than students who don’t.
Strong writing evolves over time. Writers go through many stages of thinking and writing. All of these stages benefit from conversation and dialogue with others.
Writers:
Your Writing Center visits can correspond with any or all of these stages. You will benefit the most if you plan multiple visits to the center – for brainstorming and planning, for developing and organizing, and then for revising, editing and proofreading. Unfortunately, a lot of students come to us close to their due dates --at that final “editing” stage --which limits the range of our feedback and eliminates many options for revision and improvement. How to make an appointmentTo schedule a thirty minute consultation, call 827-8108. Due to the high volume of consultations, please make an appointment. Walk-in students can sign up on the Writing Center wait list in the hopes that an appointment becomes available. However, walk-in appointments are not guaranteed. Help us help you
