Welcome to the Writing Center Online (WCO) for Distance Learners

As an alternative method for receiving advice about a writing project for a course, WCO services are offered to students enrolled in distance learning courses and for particular students who are otherwise unable to make it to campus for face-to-face consultations.

As with on-site consultations at the Writing Center, you may submit any type of writing at any stage of the writing process.

One of the center's writing consultants will read and make comments about your work. These comments will give you an overview of your work’s strengths and weaknesses. Comments will be returned to you as soon as possible, normally within two days (48 hours). Consultants do not read submissions on weekends or on holidays, so make sure you allow proper evaluation time for your work.

Without question, face-to-face consultations are best; however, the WCO is an effective substitute when face-to-face consultation is not possible. Our consultants provide instruction and feedback rather than proofreading or editing.
