Universal Design & Accessibility

T/TAC at VCU strives to develop products and strategies that complement a universally designed theme and approach.

The pages in this Web site follow the Web Accessibility Guidelines for Virginia Commonwealth University. We try to go above and beyond this policy, by using web accessibility validation software tools reviewed at national sources such as WebAIM WebAIM (Web Accessibility in Mind) . This helps us to satisfy Section 508 and Priority One web accessibility as defined by the World Wide Web Accessibility Initiative (W3C).

In some instances however, we link to websites that may not be completely accessible or utilize third party products to enrich the delivery of our content. If you have difficulty viewing a part of our website with your assistive technology please let us know. We will make every effort to send the information to you in a format you can access.

We also attempt to maintain a web design that follows the philosophies and guidelines for “designing for web accessibility and simplicity” as defined by Dr. Jakob Nielsen.
