Age-Appropriate Transition Assessment for Youth with Disabilities
Dr. Gary M. Clark presented a full day workshop on "Age-Appropriate Transition Assessment for Youth with Disabilities" on Monday, August 24, 2009 in Richmond, VA. His presentation focused on a comprehensive review of the process focusing on an overview, formal and commercially available instruments, informal activities, and resources. Capital Regional Youth Workforce Transition Council
The Greater Richmond Intercommunity Transition Council (GRITC) merged in August, 2009 with another strong local transition council. The Capital Regional Youth Workforce Transition Council meets once per month in Henrico County. This active group is comprised of the following members:

- VA Dept. of Correctional Education
- Dept. of Juvenile Justice
- VA Employment Commission
- 14th District Court Services Unit
- 16th District Court Services Unit
- Job Corps
- Capital Area Workforce Center
- Dept. of Rehabilitative Services
- Goodwill Industries
- The Choice Group
- Richmond City Public Schools
- Goodchland County Public Schools
- Powhatan County Public Schools
The Capital Regional Youth Workforce Transition Council members work with students with disabilities and students who are at risk for school failure, as well as incarcerated youth. Our Mission is to improve outcomes for the youth whom we serve.
All meetings for the merged transition council are held on the 2nd Wednesday of the month, from 9-11AM at the Henrico Court Services Unit.
