Residential Services is committed to excellence in service delivery to individuals with mental retardation. In partnership with the community, persons impacted by mental retardation are assisted with life enhancing opportunities and supports.
Residential Services widens the opportunities for individuals with mental retardation to decide where, with whom and how they lead their lives as citizens of Chesterfield County. Specializing in providing supports and resources to individuals and families, our team helps you and your family with the process of working towards your goals for the future.

Eligibility: Individuals must be 18 years of age or older and have a primary diagnosis of mental retardation. Residents may also have other disabilities. Residents must desire to live in the residential setting they are applying for and be able to be safely supervised and supported by the staff to consumer ratio of the residential setting.
Intake: Referrals come through the Mental Retardation Case Management.
Fees: Residential services are covered by the Mental Retardation Medicaid Waiver (MR Waiver).
Community Options
The levels and intensity of residential support services available vary with the individual's changing needs. A wide array of supports are available; from 24 hours a day to independent living. These services are developed around each individual's expectations and needs in an effort to better fit their lifestyles.
