My Life Beyond High School

Dream

A map is only useful if you know where you are going. The first step to figuring out your goals is to imagine your future. Take some time to dream about your life as an adult. Picture yourself celebrating your 30th birthday.

Here are some other questions to consider.

Dreams give you a goal.
“I have learned, that if one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors to live the life he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours.” - Henry David Thoreau
Dreams give you the determination to handle obstacles.
“People are always blaming their circumstances for what they are. I don't believe in circumstances. The people who get on in this world are the people who get up and look for the circumstances they want, and, if they can't find them, make them.” - George Bernard Shaw
Dreams help you to become your best self.
“To achieve all that is possible, we must attempt the impossible. To be as much as we can be, we must dream of being more.” - Karen Ravn
