In
addition to the faculty listed below, coordinated research projects
between other faculty and the structural biology faculty are common
and encouraged. Active research areas include studies of vitamin-B6
and folate-requiring enzymes, rational design of hemoglobin modulators,
molecular model building structure-function studies, RNA structure
studies, DNA and RNA-binding proteins, protein and nucleic acid
methylases, lipoprotein structure, proteinase inhibitors, retroviral
proteins, new antibiotic targets.
