Dining room
A room designated specifically for dining is an 18th-century invention, largely developed by Robert Adam, hence the choice of an Adamesque décor here. A large dining table with 12 chairs around, a high-mirrored Chippendale sideboard, a pair of corner cabinets and a china cabinet — all mahogany — were handcrafted for this room. A hidden button at Frederic Scott’s end of the table would summon a group of servants to clear the china from the dinner table.
