The Association for Persons in Supported Employment
The
Association for Persons in Supported Employment is a membership organization formed to
improve and expand integrated employment opportunities, services, and for persons experiencing
disabilities. APSE provides advocacy and education; promotes national, state, and local policy
development; educates the public and the business community on employment of persons with
disabilities; holds an annual conference; to mention a few of the organization's activities.

The National Supported Employment Consortium (SEC)
The SEC is designed to critically evaluate supported employment nationally and to provide
technical assistance on exemplary programs and practices to state and local agencies. The SEC
was formed in response to the January 31,1997 Request for Proposals issued by RSA for a
National Scope Project on supported employment.
This National Consortium is administered by the Virginia Commonwealth University
Rehabilitation Research and Training Center on Supported Employment with participating
membership from: the Indiana University Institute for the Study of Developmental Disabilities,
the Boston Children's Hospital Institute for Community Inclusion, TransCen Incorporated, and
the University of Montana Rural Institute on Disabilities.
