Greetings...I am really excited to have this opportunity to work with Katty and Amy in presenting material to you about person-centered planning! Teaching on the internet is new to me and I am discovering how much fun it can be!

I am currently with Virginia Institute for Developmental Disabilities, a university affiliated program at Virginia Commonwealth University. I have been in Virginia for four years now and I love it! I moved from Colorado where I spent 14 years as a general education teacher and 4 years in the field of special education. While in Colorado I also served as a behavioral consultant and integration facilitator for a large school division.

I am project director of a federally funded program that provides training and technical assistance for children with dual sensory impairments and also teach several graduate level courses at VCU. Traveling is one of my favorite hobbies, and I am fortunate to be able to incorporate my love of traveling with my desire to share ideas and strategies regarding person-centered planning, collaborative IEPs, family/professional partnerships, and inclusive schools and communities. I am looking forward to learning and sharing with you!

Hi! I have been associated with Virginia Commonwealth University since 1981 working on projects that focus on improving the quality of life for individuals with severe disabilities. My background is in occupational therapy, special education, and personnel training. Specifically, I'm most interested in assisting students with disabilities to be included in their communities and the nation's workforce. I have focused primarily on supported employment implementation since 1984. I am really excited about this opportunity to disseminate information on transition and adult issues through a distance education format. Please let us know how we can make this site meaningful to all of you who are our audience!

Hello, there! Besides working on TechLink, I also work on another distance education project - the Supported Employment Telecourse Network- at the VCU-RRTC on Supported Employment. In this capacity I produce, market and moderate live satellite training opportunities that deal with disability related issues. I have worked with computer assisted training through CD-ROM and the Internet.

Every once in awhile, I get to meet people face-to-face, presenting or training nationally on supported employment and distance education. When I was younger I worked as an employment specialist, supervisor of a developmental day program, and as an independent living skills instructor in a CIL. Michigan State University is my alma matter. . . and I am proud of it!!
