VCU Rice Center, the Audubon Society and VCU’s Green Unity help protect migratory birds
VCU’s Green Unity student group is sponsoring a Public Art project to assist with conservation education linking communities locally and in the tropics that share similar concerns and challenges protecting migratory birds. This is part of a larger collaborative project involving the Audubon Society and some of our Rice researchers, funded by the VCU Division of Community Engagement, linking VCU faculty and students with school children in both the Richmond area and in Panama. The project focuses on learning about ecology and conservation of migratory birds and the critical habitats they rely on, with a focus on bird species that migrate between the Chesapeake Bay and Panama Bay annually.
