ACQUISITIONS

Real Estate and Insurance Services (REIS) acquires real property within the VCU Master Site Plan for a number of Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) growth initiates.  To achieve these goals requires that REIS negotiate the terms of the purchase agreement, order and evaluate real estate appraisals, title insurance, environmental reports, and site surveys, and coordinate approval of state CO-2 forms.  Submissions for the approval of the VCU Board of Visitors and/or the VCU Real Estate Foundation (VCUREF) Board of Directors are prepared for all acquisitions and sales.  Legal review and signatures are obtained on real estate transaction documents.  REIS is also responsible for the acquisition or granting of easements and coordinating the closing of alleys and streets (with the City of Richmond) for the University and University-related foundations.
