Vehicle Insurance

The State’s Risk Management Plan includes automobile liability, comprehensive and collision coverage as follows:

Covered Vehicles:
Owned, non-owned, hired and rented vehicles for liability.
Owned, non-owned, hired and rented for comprehensive and collision.

Liability limits:
$2,000,000 for claims against individuals
$100,000 for claims against the state
$5,000 medical payments
$50,000 per person for claims caused by underinsured motorists
$25,000 per person/$50,000 per accident for claims caused by uninsured motorists
$20,000 per accident for uninsured motorist property damage
Collision and Comprehensive: the vehicle’s actual cash value
Comprehensive coverage includes loss from glass breakage, fire, theft
and vandalism.

Deductible:
$1,000 per accident for collision and comprehensive
$0 for liability

Towing:
$100 maximum per occurrence

Rental expense:
$150 maximum per occurrence

Note:
The department that owns the vehicle is responsible for the $1,000 deductible.
