Mission Statement

The mission of Real Estate and Insurance Services (REIS) is to provide expertise to Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) in matters relating to the acquisition and disposal of real estate through purchase and/or lease, ensure that all assets of the University and University-related foundations are protected through property and liability insurance, and manage real estate holdings of the University-related foundations to ensure that buildings are properly maintained and operate efficiently.  Through our mission, REIS ensures that the University has adequate space within which to carry out its mission of teaching, research and public service, while providing for future growth and expansion of the University.
