Program Review links
| Guidelines for Systematic Review
(for programs falling below productivity standards
in numbers of graduates)
Interdisciplinary programs in which no more than 25%
of the major is comprised of courses other than those regularly
offered by other programs are exempt from this review. Programs
that have received a score of 75 or above on the previous review
are exempt from review for one biennium. Programs that are presently
on probation should submit their reports by October 15, 1998. By
December 1998, Council staff will develop the new list of programs
triggered for review; those reviews should be submitted by March
15, 1999.
Productivity
- Five-year average of graduates, % of the total institutional graduates that they represent, and
increases or decreases in trend lines of graduates *
- Five-year average of full-time-equivalent (FTE) majors, % of total institutional FTE
enrollments that they represent, and increases or decreases in trend lines of enrollments *
- Ratio of program-generated student credit hours (SCH)/full-time-equivalent faculty (FTEF)
as compared to the institutional average

Note: Graduate programs with the same Classification
of Instructional Program (CIP) code may be treated as a group,
for which the standards will be cumulative.
Results
- Assessment results -- measures of learning
- Graduates' satisfaction with i) education received, ii) support services, including advising, and
iii) course availability (from the statewide questionnaire and other non-anecdotal sources)
- Percent of graduates who i) are employed in program-related work, ii) are pursuing further study,
or iii) identify the program as significantly contributing to their functioning as workers and citizens
(from the statewide questionnaire and other non-anecdotal sources)
- For programs in which there is a licensure examination -- of graduates who take the examination,
the percentage who fail as compared to the national average for that field
Program costs and resources**
- Total direct program costs/student credit hours (SCH). The costs should include the following:
Personnel (full-time faculty, part-time faculty, graduate teaching assistants, classified staff other
personnel) and Non-personal services (travel, equipment, library, supplies, accreditation costs,
scholarships/fellowships, other)
- Outside revenues, by kind
** Costs and revenues may be averaged over a five-year period.
