NAFEO Contract for Gateway Computers

University Purchasing coordinated access to the National Association for Equal Opportunity in Higher Education (NAFEO) Gateway Business contract for Virginia Commonwealth University. Departments may purchase Gateway Computer products from the NAFEO contract. Purchase orders should reference the contract number and the Institutional Program Code listed below:

University departments may place orders up to $30,000 provided the procurement is reviewed and approved in advance of the purchase for all orders over $5,000 by your area computing representative. The contract provides leasing and financing options in addition to outright purchases. Gateway accepts either a VCU purchase order or the Corporate Purchasing Card. The NAFEO contract has provisions for personal purchases from faculty, staff, students and alumni at the same discounts offered to the University. Prices are the same for institutional or personal purchases; however, faculty, staff and students will be required to pay any necessary sales or use tax. University funds must not be used for individual purchases, but Gateway accepts personal charge cards or personal checks. Financing and leasing options are also available. The discounts available to VCU on the Gateway NAFEO contract are greater than the discounts on the state contract for Gateway products. The contract pricing is based on a discount off the Gateway Commercial Price List. The discounts are as follows:

    10.1 % discount for Servers
      8.1 % discount for E-Series desktops, Solo portables, Business Profiles
      6.1 % discount for GP-Series desktops
      3.1 % discount for the Gateway Essential, Gateway Select, and Gateway Performance desktops
      2.1 % discount for Consumer Profiles, Astro systems
      6.1 % discount for Add-ons
      3.1 % discount for third party peripherals

For every dollar spent for Gateway products released from the NAFEO contract, VCU receives a 2.0% quarterly for scholarships and up to a 3.0% rebate.
