Fisher Scientific Cooperative Procurement Contract

#UCP-008-00
Contract Term: 12/15/99 to 10/31/09

To purchase laboratory supplies and apparatus, Virginia Commonwealth University Departments may access a Virginia Association of State College and University Purchasing Professionals (VASCUPP) cooperative procurement contract with Fisher Scientific. The contract designates Fisher Scientific as the Prime Contractor for this commodity. While the cooperative procurement contract is not mandatory, Fisher was awarded Prime Contractor status based on the favorable pricing, the extensive product selection and the multiple services available through the agreement.

As the Primary supplier for laboratory supplies and apparatus, Fisher is offering the following to VCU:

  • Volume discounts by commodity off the published list price of all the products in the Fisher Scientific Catalogs. To access the discount structure list, click here.
  • Deeper discounts on the most frequently purchased.
  • Inside "desktop" delivery (except on large equipment) at no charge
  • Dry ice and HAZMAT charges waived
  • A full-time sales representative offers pre and post purchase support
  • A 95% or better fill rate for all orders to be delivered within two business days after receipt of order

To access product information and pricing on-line, please utilize the Fisher Internet site at www.fishersci.com. Contact the VCU Fisher Sales Representative to have an individual web site account established for you. The traditional hard copy of the Fisher Scientific catalog is available upon request from the company.

Requirements under $7,500 may be placed with Fisher under the departmental delegation. Orders over $7,500 must be sent to University Purchasing for processing but do not require additional competition. When placing an order within the departmental delegation, please reference the cooperative procurement contract number UCP-008-00. To ensure that VCU receives the contract discount, communicate the contract number to Fisher when requesting a quote. Fisher accepts either a VCU purchase order or the Corporate Purchasing Card to process the order.

There is a Fisher punch-out catalog in eVA for University Department to use for orders under $7,500. Using the punch-out catalog when placing orders provides access to contract products and pricing and facilitates the ordering and delivery processes. To access the Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) Fisher punch-out catalog in eVA, type fisher - punchout in the key words search field on the add items screen of your requisition. Use the "Search" button to bring up the punch-out catalogs and scroll down to the two (2) VCU Fisher catalogs: FisherSci_VA_Commonwealth_Univ-1and FisherSci_VA_Commonwealth_Univ-2. Due to the large amount of information contained in the punch-out catalog there are two files that allow users to maneuver more easily in the online records. You may also use the punch out catalog to send requisitions for requirements over $7,500 to University Purchasing.

If there is a Fisher quote or quotes for requirements under or over $7,500, please set up a line on the eVA requisition for each quote.

Very importantly when ordering Fisher products, always select from the supplier drop down box C5537 Fisher Scientific - Punchout Orders to input the Fisher suppler information on all requisitions.
