Graduate Scholarships
About the Award:
Scholarships of up to $2,500 each will be awarded to master’s- and doctoral-degree candidates chosen by their academic units. The awards are credited to the students’ accounts for the fall semester and are funded by the VCU Graduate School. A recipient’s award cannot exceed the value of full tuition and fees. Academic units are not allowed to decrease previous and current awards by a like amount, since this award is an additional honor for the students so recognized
Eligibility:
- The recipient must be pursuing a graduate degree and will be continuing full-time study during the academic year;
- For master’s-level scholarships, should have completed the equivalent of at least one semester of full-time study toward their degrees,
- For doctoral-level scholarships, should have completed the equivalent of at least one year of full-time study toward their degrees, and
- Has a 3.80 minimum cumulative grade point average
- Academic units should consider current Phi Kappa Phi members as the potential recipients
Submission and Selection Process:
- Each academic unit, through its own internal process, decides how recipient for the VCU Graduate School Scholarship shall be identified and chosen.
- Each academic unit may choose no more than one recipient for each of the two awards (master’s and doctoral).
- The academic unit dean or designee submits the names of their VCU Graduate School Scholarship recipients to the Phi Kappa Phi Executive Director’s office.
