Pharmacology and Toxicology Graduate Program
Drug Abuse
The Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology offers
excellent pre- and postdoctoral training in the field of drug abuse
research via the Drug Abuse Training Grant and the Drug Abuse Center
Grant. Both of these grants are funded by the National Institute
on Drug Abuse and reflect the overall excellence of the department’s
research expertise in this area. The Drug Abuse Training Grant provides
financial support (tuition and stipend) for students whose research
is directed toward a greater understanding of how drugs of abuse
affect human health.
The Drug Abuse Center Grant brings together individual investigators
who share a common interest in understanding the molecular interactions
of various drugs of abuse on neuronal systems. Both grants also sponsor
a weekly Drug Abuse Seminar Program. This important resource allows
students and faculty to learn about the latest developments in the
field of drug abuse research from experts in this field.
