Emergency Medical Services For Children (EMSC)

EMSC is the abbreviation for a complex network of protocols and services aimed at getting ill and injured children the emergency care they need.

Safe Kids of Virginia

The National SAFE KIDS Campaign was founded in 1987 and is the first and only national nonprofit organization dedicated solely to the prevention of unintentional childhood injury.

The commonwealth of Virginia is fortunate to have 10 SAFE KIDS Coalitions and one SAFE KIDS Chapter that are actively working to prevent unintentional injuries in children.

Virginia Sickle Cell Awareness Program

In an effort to reduce morbidity and mortality in children and newborns identified with sickle cell disease, the Department of Pediatrics on the MCV Campus of Virginia Commonwealth University has developed a Comprehensive Sickle Cell Clinic.

The Virginia Treatment Center For Children

At the Virginia Treatment Center for Children, each child deserves the best treatment possible. The center believes that families deserve respect and compassion as well as a voice in their child's care ¼ from the initial evaluation to a participating role in treatment. VTCC maintains a liberal visitation policy for patients hospitalized at the facility ¼ family members and/or guardians are encouraged to visit and participate in the child/adolescent's treatment.

Children's Miracle Network

Children's Miracle Network is an organization dedicated to generating funds and awareness for the health care, benefiting the children of Central Virginia. The Richmond branch of CMN was founded in 1983, and has successfully raised hundreds of thousands of dollars, all of which remains in the area, directly benefiting the VCUHS Children's Medical Center and Children's Hospital.

ASK

ASK is a private, nonprofit organization that supports clinical and laboratory research at the VCU Health System to aid in finding the causes and cures of childhood cancer.
