Moonlighting

Moonlighting is permitted for residents who have met the qualifications, have acquired full and independent licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia and have appropriate liability insurance coverage. Moonlighters must comply with the new ACGME requirements. PGY-1 residents may not moonlight. In-house moonlighting is available in the NICU.

Salaries and financial assistance

Residents in the program earn competitive salaries, in addition to stipends, book allowance and paid vacations, among other benefits listed on the Graduate Medical Education Web site.

Benefits

Three weeks paid vacation per academic year. Other benefits, including liability insurance, health insurance, on-call meals and the opportunity to do an away rotation are provided.
