Application information
The Pediatric Residency Program accepts applicants only through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). Students can access ERAS through the Association of American Medical Colleges. Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- All applicants must have graduated from an accredited medical school.
- All applicants must have passed Steps 1, 2CK and 2CS.
- International applicants must have ECFMG Certification in addition to three months of clinical experience in a U.S. hospital — observerships are not accepted.
- All applicants must submit three letters of recommendation from U.S. or Canadian physicians who have personal knowledge of the applicant’s clinical abilities.
- All applicants must be within four years of graduation from medical school.
- Applications will be accepted by the residency program through December.
- VCU offers J-1 Visas.
Completed files are reviewed and invitations to interview are extended through ERAS. Interviews will be scheduled on select Mondays and Fridays.
Please contact our Residency Office with all inquiries regarding the interviews, scheduling or questions about our program.
