PDA-Enabled Job Coaching

Overview

This program, funded by the Commonwealth of Virginia Neurotrauma Initiative Fund, provides face-to-face and web-based training for Virginia job coaches who work with individuals who have acquired brain injury. Job coaches are trained to teach their clients how to utilize task-organization and task-sequencing software on handheld computers as cognitive aids in work settings. Devices and software are provided to participants as part of the project. As of November 2006, 30 professionals have been trained to provide this service.

Major Activities

Face-to-face workshop (30 participants), development of online training workshop (ongoing).
