Overview
This project provides training and technical assistance for children (birth
to 22) who have dual sensory impairments (deaf blindness) in community
and school settings. (Funded by the U.S. Department of Education, Office
of Special Education Programs.)
Major Activities
Provide information and training on educating, screening, and identifying
children who have dual sensory (deaf-blind) impairments
Assist in building partnerships with parents, families, and community
members
Present strategies and information on how to include children who
are deaf and blind in general education settings
Consult with educators, families, and service providers to meet the
needs of children who are deaf-blind
Collaborate with T/TACs, ICCs and other state agencies to build capacity
for addressing the needs of children who are deaf-blind
Collect and maintain statewide census of children and youth who are
deaf-blind
