The Office of International Education at VCU comprises seven units and serves the needs of international students and scholars as well as students who desire an educational experience abroad. OIE provides immigration and admissions services, English language programs, study abroad opportunities, and outreach for students and scholars. Since 2006, OIE administers the newly created 15 International Partnership Universities initiative.
International Admissions helps international students through the admissions process while Student and Scholar Services make them feel at home once they arrive. The Office of Education Abroad provides all VCU students the opportunity to add study in a foreign country to their curricula. The English Language Program offers classes for students who need to improve their English language skills in order to achieve their academic goals at VCU, while Immigration Services guide students and scholars through the process of obtaining visas and maintaining status during their stay. The 15 International Partnership Universities establish long-term, in-depth teaching and research collaboration in 12 designated countries. In addition to the partnerships, OIE assists VCU’s schools and the College of Humanities and Sciences with international relationships.
OIE also supports international-focused events and activities, through co-sponsorships with other VCU units, such as the VCU French Film Festival.
