Where: University Student Commons, Commonwealth Ballroom
Time: 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Who: All new and transfer international students are required to attend

International Student Orientation is a required program and serves as your formal introduction to all that VCU has to offer. We encourage you to ask lots of questions, actively participate in discussions, become acquainted with friends and learn what will be expected of you as a member of the VCU community. Make sure to bring your passport, I-94 card, I-20 or DS-2019, and (where applicable) other miscellaneous documentation that International Admissions requires in order to finalize your acceptance (ex: high school transcripts, TOEFL score, financial documents, etc).
What to expect at orientation
- Student services will advise you on housing, health insurance and a variety of other opportunities available to international students at VCU (monthly excursions, conversation partners, coffee hour, etc.).
- Immigration services will advise you on regulations you should be aware of in order to maintain your immigration status at VCU.
- International Admissions and Immigration Services will host required check-in sessions to make sure that you have completed all the administrative requirements necessary to begin your studies on time.
- Current international students will provide the inside scoop on academics, involvement and social life at VCU.
