The Office of International Education and the School of World Studies at Virginia Commonwealth University are pleased to offer a unique opportunity to study Spanish language in beautiful Seville, with a four-day trip to Morocco. Students will enjoy an intensive four-week Spanish language program conducted in conjunction with the native Spanish instructors at the Insula School of Language in Seville. Seville is located in southern Spain, two hours from Portugal and one hour from the coast. The layout of the city dates from the Middle Ages and is designed as protection against the summer heat. Thus, Seville combines a great variety of different scenes: small squares, narrow alleys and quaint cafés, allowing for a surprise around every corner.

Course and credit options: Students may enroll for 4 or 6 VCU credits through the following courses (SPAN 101 and 102 are 4-credit courses and may not be taken with another course; all other courses are 3 credits): SPAN 101 Elementary Spanish, SPAN 102 Elementary Spanish, SPAN 201 Intermediate Spanish, SPAN 205 Intermediate Spanish Conversation, SPAN 300 Advanced Grammar and Writing, SPAN 301 Advanced Grammar and Writing, SPAN 305 Advanced Spanish Conversation, SPAN 320 Civilization of Spain and SPAN 491 Topics, independent studies.
