University of Westminster

As the first and only university in the UK to offer a degree program in Fashion Merchandise Management, as well as being located in one of the safest and most exciting cities in Europe, the University of Westminster is a great place for students interested in studying fashion merchandising. Being a part of this unique cosmopolitan community, students can experience the bubbling street markets, world-renowned museums, theatres, famous landmarks and fashion-forward living.

Curriculum: Students are able to study courses alongside British and other international students. Students choose three of four options to study including supply chain management, brand management, cross cultural people management and marketing research, as well as undertaking an internship. Courses are divided into theory (classroom based) and practice (studio based).

Transfer of credit: Students must earn the equivalent of a ‘C’ grade or higher in a given course to be eligible for transfer credit. Students are required to take the necessary steps to ensure that transcripts are received from the university upon return to VCU.

Academic calendar:
Spring semester - Early January to mid-June

Language of instruction: Courses are taught in English.

Housing: Students may apply to stay on campus. Priority is given to all international students for places in the university’s five halls of residence, provided that applications are received by the deadline. There are four campuses, three in central London, and the other in Harrow, about 20 minutes on the subway from downtown. Free help and advice is offered to students to find alternative accommodations through Student Housing Services. Additional housing information can be found at www.wmin.ac.uk/page-4304. Please note that on-campus housing is limited and a space is not guaranteed.

Tuition and fees: Academic tuition for VCU students is based on VCU tuition and fees. Room and board are paid directly to University of Westminster. Students are required to have at least $1,330 for each month that they will be in London. Please visit www.wmin.ac.uk/page-5519for more information about costs.

Location: The university is located among four sites throughout London, England. The Cavendish Campus, Regent Campus, Marylebone Campus and Harrow Campus are all easily accessed by the subway.

Travel information: Students are responsible for making their own travel arrangements, including visas if required.

To apply: Applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 and a 3.0 for all courses in the School of Media, Arts and Design. Portfolios must be submitted for courses consisting of examples of your work relevant to the subject area you wish to study. Applications can be found online at www.wmin.ac.uk/page-4813.
