Emergency Eye Wash /Safety Shower Inspections

VCU's Office of Environmental Health and Safety inspects the emergency eyewashes and safety showers in our environment.  Emergency eyewashes and safety showers are tested annually by OEHS to ensure compliance with ANSI standards.  If an eyewash or shower fails to meet the requirements, work orders are issued and a second test is performed once the repairs are complete.  Weekly flushes of eyewashes are to be performed by personnel in the unit or lab area.  A weekly record chart can be downloaded here.
