Michele Monti

Bio
Michele M. Monti is the Director of the Division of Environmental Epidemiology in the Virginia Department of Health. She is responsible for statewide programs to detect, prevent and control human illness from waterborne, vector-borne and zoonotic diseases and human diseases and conditions due to exposure to chemical and biological agents in the environment.  

She holds an M.P.H. (Masters in Public Health) from Virginia Commonwealth University, an M.S. degree in Environmental Science from the University of Virginia, and a B.S. in Biology from Dickinson College, Carlisle, PA. 

She previously served as the Virginia Director of the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay, and as an environmental program planner for Virginia's Superfund Program.
