Application process:

The deadline for applying to the Neuroscience Graduate Program is February 1st, for admission in the Fall semester. All applications must be submitted on line at:

Application requirements:

  • Minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or better.
  • General GRE or MCAT test.  We do not require the subject GRE test.
  • Three letters of recommendation submitted on VCU forms:

  • International students must have TOEFL score of 550 or higher.
  • Official transcripts of all graduate and undergraduate records mailed from the College or University registrar. Transcript request form:

Financial aid

All successful applicants receive a teaching/research assistantships or fellowships. For 2008–09, stipends range from $21,300 to $24,000 per year; a supplement to assist in covering the cost of health insurance is also included.  The cost of tuition and fees are included in the financial support.
