* Specialists in poison information are the individuals who staff
the emergency phone lines 24 hours a day. These registered nurses
are experienced in emergency care and receive special training in
the evaluation and treatment of overdoses, adverse drug reactions
and poisonings. In addition, a board certified toxicologist is on
call for back-up or physician consultation 24 hours a day.
