The architect for this Italianate villa is unknown, but the original setting was a rural one in 1855, reflected today in its surrounding lawn and trees. As a result of 1867 and 1892 annexations, it was well within the city limits by the early 1900s and fit in nicely with its more fashionable neighbors after its renovation into a Georgian Revival.
