| Building Description: Cabell Library is home to VCU Libraries, the principal occupant of the building, the Center for Teaching Excellence and to several units of Technology Services. Cabell Library provides a broad array of library services including: circulation and reserve, instruction and outreach, interlibrary loan and document delivery. Media Resource Services includes materials in a variety of print and nonprint formats, such as periodicals and microforms, online databases, full-text databases, electronic journals, media (audio-visual resources, multimedia, etc.) Library resources include two special collections: Government Documents (Federal, State and local) and Special Collections and Archives. Included in the Government Documents collection is the only patent and trademark depository in the commonwealth. Other VCU Libraries Services components located in Cabell Library provide network and technical services and include acquisitions, automation, cataloging, collection management and preservation. Technology Services, located on the B, or basement level, maintains staff offices, classrooms, a general purpose, open computing lab and a customer service window. |
