Responding to the challenges of the Life Science Revolution in the 21st century: A new approach

Integrating essentials
VCU Life Sciences integrates the branches of science dealing with living organisms and their organization, life processes and relationships to each other and their environments. VCU Life Sciences also integrates the expertise, strengths and resources of the university’s academic and clinical research, the schools on the MCV Campus – in undergraduate, graduate and professional programs — and the VCU Health System.

VCU Life Sciences combines the university’s strengths with those of local business, industry, government and community, creating partnerships that are especially important to students. These partnerships incorporate engineering, microelectronics, computer, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, chemical and biotechnology industries and not only provide students with opportunities for internships, cooperative education and service learning, but also exposure to the workforce of the new century.
