Research

As a part of central Virginia's premiere teaching institution, research is a cornerstone of our practice. The MIS Center is at the center of the most recent advances in the field of endoscopic surgery and other minimally invasive techniques. It is our ongoing committment to enhance health care delivery, establish technologically advanced facilities, continually analyze and evaluate outcomes, patient satisfaction, cost and other related initiatives.

Rapid advancements in the field of minimally invasive surgery are a direct result of research. The minimally invasive surgery center:

  • Practices to accelerate the delivery of cutting-edge research throughout the country.
  • Established state-of-the-art laboratories for research.
  • Created ancillary laboratory areas for design and testing of new technologies including simulation training.
  • Developed corporate partnerships for implementation of videoscopic technology, instrumentation, computer design, ultrasonography, and robotics
