VCU’s Outdoor Adventure Program provides a full summer schedule of kayaking, climbing, hiking, hang gliding and more.
This summer, the Virginia Commonwealth University community is finding new ways to explore the outdoors.
Students, faculty, staff and alumni can take advantage of a full schedule of low-cost programs, such as whitewater rafting, kayaking, rock climbing, caving and hiking, through Recreational Sports’ Outdoor Adventure Program.
“Most of the people we get have always wanted to try to go kayaking or caving or some other activity,” said Greg Hawkins, Outdoor Adventure Program coordinator. “We try to look at what we can offer at the beginning and intermediate level that almost everyone can do. We don’t really focus on one area, but do a little bit of everything, from tubing to hiking to canoe trips.”
The 2008 outdoor adventure programs include the following:
Canoeing
Caving
Climbing
Hiking and camping
Kayaking
Rafting
