HIPAA Privacy Rule
The HIPAA Privacy Rule established a foundation of Federal protections for the privacy of protected health information. Failure to comply with this Federally mandated minimum level of health information privacy protection may trigger the imposition of civil and/or criminal penalties against the VCU Affiliated Covered Entity Center and the individual involved.
