The American Physical Society recently celebrated it's 100th birthday in Atlanta Georgia, by putting on the Centennial Meeting of the APS March 21-26, 1999. This meeting was attended by over 11,000 physicists from around the world, and was by far the biggest gathering of physicists ever convened.
VCU’s Department of Physics was well represented at the Meeting. Fourteen Faculty and Students attended the Centennial celibration, giving a total of fifteen oral presentations on their research projects, including an invited presentation by Prof. Rao. In addition, three of our faculty were invited to chair sessions at the meeting.
