The
American
Physical Society recently celebrated it's 100th
birthday in Atlanta Georgia, by putting on the Centennial
Meeting of the APS March 21-26, 1999. This meeting
was attended by over 11,000 physicists from around
the world, and was by far the biggest gathering of
physicists ever convened. |

VCUs
Department
of Physics was well represented at the
Meeting. Fourteen Faculty and Students
attended the Centennial celibration, giving a total of fifteen
oral presentations on their research projects,
including an invited presentation by Prof. Rao. In
addition, three of our faculty were invited to chair
sessions at the meeting. |
