East End Partnership for Families Program
The East End Partnership for Families project is a collaboration
where Institute staff work to build leadership capacity among partner
organizations and residents in the East End section of Richmond.
Growing out of Richmond’s work with the Annie E. Casey Foundation’s
Children’s Mental Health Initiative in the early 1990s, the East
End Partnership for Families is a group of human service agencies
and community groups whose mission is “Working together to improve
the lives of East End children and families — With Respect
— With Equality — With Hope.”

Projects
The East End Partnership for Families’ current focus is on establishing
coordinated services, reducing violence and its negative outcomes,
and improving educational outcomes. The Institute is the partnership’s
“learning partner” and specifically provides the group with facilitation,
leadership development and evaluation.
Financial Support
Funding from the Annie E. Casey Foundation supports the East End
Partnership as well as our work in the project “Accessing Data for
Positive Community Change,” a collaborative effort between VCU and
local organizations.
