From rural communities to urban cities, family medicine has
been a cornerstone to the medical profession. Often, these
doctors
will treat multiple generations of one family. David Marsland,
professor and former Department of Family Practice chair, and
Robert L. Phillips Jr., assistant director of the Robert Graham
Center for Policy Studies in Family Practice and Primary Care,
discussed the impact that family practice has had on Virginia
and the nation as well as the issues faced by current family
practice physicians at the celebration. You can view their PowerPoint
presentations below.
