Hearing Aids

Hearing aids are selected for you based on the results of your hearing evaluation, also known as an audiogram. Your lifestyle, anatomy of your ear canal, and your personal preferences are also taken into account. We fit a wide range of hearing aid manufacturers and models. Hearing aids range in size from very small completely-in-the-canal hearing aids to powerful behind-the-ear aids. There are also different types of technology, ranging from basic analog to sophisticated digital instruments.

Additionally, we fit bone anchored hearing aids (BAHA) for people with chronic ear infections, congenital hearing loss, and single-sided deafness. This option requires minor surgery that is performed by an Otolaryngologist. To read more about BAHAs, please visit: www.entific.com

To obtain a hearing aid(s), a hearing aid evaluation is scheduled with an Audiologist to discuss your options. A current hearing evaluation within the last 6 months is required. An impression is taken of your ear and once a hearing aid is selected, a fitting appointment is scheduled in approximately 2 ½ weeks. Hearing aids are fit on a 30-day trial basis. Follow-up care is readily available.

The Audiologists in this facility work closely with the Otolaryngology physicians to treat or rule out any medical issues related to hearing loss. In fact, medical clearance with your primary care physician or an Otolaryngologist is encouraged prior to pursing amplification.
